Night of the 3rd, we stayed the at the Longson cabin (it's becoming a tradition) and got little sleep due to an erratic summer thunderstorm. It made for a beautiful morning however, with extra humidity and a balmy 68 degrees. We ate breakfast at Brighton and enjoyed entertaining the babies and dogs.

We took a gorgeous drive through Guardsman Pass to get to Provo for a floating trip my Gagnon relatives. I loved all the lush meadows and thick stands of aspen trees. I kept telling Mitch that driving through here helped me feel better about living in the desert, which I often whine about.

The Provo river was freezing, but the heat balanced it out. There was thick foliage and trees lining the river, so unfortunately not everyone stayed in their tubes. We all made it safely though and I definitely look forward to making it a summer Gagnon tradition.
